Senator Harckham Awards Liberty Medals to Five Heroic Police Officers for Saving a Life

The New York State Senate Liberty Medal is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual by the New York State Senate. The recipients must be selfless, noble, and heroic through exceptional actions or meritorious or humanitarian efforts. 

On September 24, 2019, during the Mount Pleasant Town Board meeting, Senator Harckham presented 5 local Police Officers with Liberty Medals for their brave and collaborative efforts in saving a young man's life on April 12, 2019. The Town of Mount Pleasant congratulates Sergeant Juan Garcia (Pleasantville Police Department), Police Officer Erin Holly (Pleasantville Police Department), Detective Rob Barber (Westchester County Department of Public Safety), Detective Lauren Valentino (Mount Pleasant Police Department) and Detective Walter O'Keeffe (Mount Pleasant Police Department) on this prestigious honor and is proud to recognize them for their courageous efforts.
