New York State Department of Transportation (DOT), Saw Mill River Parkway Project

Please see the below message from the New York State DOT. The Town will continue to represent the residents and raise their concerns to the DOT.

Pile driving along the southbound side of the Saw Mill River Parkway (SMRP) in Mount Pleasant and Pleasantville continues during daytime hours. This stage of pile driving will take place Monday-Saturday for approximately the next 9 weeks, weather permitting. A night shift (5pm-1am) of roadway and maintenance work has also begun. This work is necessary to address road settlement and ultimately eliminate flooding and frequent parkway closure.

The project team has been working to complete the work as efficiently and safely as possible to minimize any disturbance to the community. We understand that this may be a short term inconvenience and we hope to work together with the community for the much needed long term improvement. We thank you for your cooperation during this public benefit project.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
