Can a third party be notified about taxes?
If you are 65 years of age or older, or disabled, or you own and occupy a 1, 2, or 3 family residence, you may designate a concerning adult third party to receive duplicate copies of your tax bill or delinquent notice. Applications are available from the tax office and must be filed prior to Feb. 10 for County/Town taxes and prior to July 10 for School taxes.
What about Veteran's Exemptions?
In compliance with Section 458-a of the Real Property Tax Law, we are informing you that you may be eligible for a Veteran's exemption on your legal residence if you served during a qualifying period of War. For further information, please contact the Assessor's office at 742-2345.
What about Senior Citizen's Exemptions?
If you are 65 years of age or older, and your gross income is limited, you may be eligible for Senior Citizen tax exemptions, in addition to the STAR program. Applictions are available in the Assessors office.
