MARRIAGE LICENSES WILL BE ISSUED MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:30 AM AND NO LATER THAN 3:45 PM.
IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A MARRIAGE LICENSE THE BRIDE AND GROOM MUST APPEAR TOGETHER: PRESENT A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND SEALED BIRTH CERTIFICATE. A DIVORCED APPLICANT MUST PRESENT A SEALED DIVORCE DEGREE. IF FORMER SPOUSE IS DECEASED A CERTIFIED COPY OF THE DEATH CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED. ALL DOCUMENTATION MUST BE IN ENGLISH.

How do I get a train station parking permit?
PARKING PERMITS: PERMITS ARE FOR THE HAWTHORNE OR VALHALLA TRAIN STATIONS. YOU MUST HAVE CURRENT CAR REGISTRATION(S) AND VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE. YOUR REGISTRATION AND DRIVERS LICENSE MUST SHOW YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS IN MT. PLEASANT. YOU ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO NOTIFY DMV WITHIN TEN DAYS OF A CHANGE OF ADDRESS. IF A NEW RESIDENT; PROOF OF RESIDENCY, YOU MUST CALL THE DMV AND INFORM THEM OF YOUR NEW ADDRESS. WE WILL THEN SEND YOUR APPLICATION TO OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY WILL VERIFY THAT THE DMV HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF YOUR CHANGE OF ADDRESS. ONLY ONE CAR IS ALLOWED ON PERMIT. The holder of a Commuter Parking Permit Sticker requiring changes to their permit, example: a new car, a new car lease or damaged in an accident MUST SURRENDER THE ORIGINAL STICKER TO THE TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE FOR A REPLACEMENT OR THE COMMUTER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BUYING A NEW PARKING PERMIT AT FULL PRICE.
If the car on the permit is in need of repair and you take a different car, please call the Town Clerk's office at 914-742-2312 the day before or early in the morning to report the substitute car.
Where and how can I get a copy of a birth or death certificate or marriage license?

BIRTH CERTIFICATES: ONLY THE PARENT(S)(FATHER'S NAME MUST APPEAR ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE), LEGAL GUARDIAN, CHILD IF OVER 18 YEARS OLD. IF THE FATHER IS REQUESTING A BIRTH CERTIFICATE, HIS NAME MUST APPEAR ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
DEATH CERTIFICATES: ONLY SURVIVING SPOUSE, PARENT(S) OR CHILD OF THE DECEASED.
MARRIAGE LICENSE: (AFTER CEREMONY HAS BEEN PERFORMED) ONLY THE BRIDE OR GROOM.
THROUGH THE MAIL YOU MUST SEND US PHOTO I.D. OF YOURSELF, (DRIVER'S LICENSE) AND A SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE. THE COST IS $ 10.00 PER COPY AND WE ONLY ACCEPT MONEY ORDERS; MADE PAYABLE TO THE TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, ONE TOWN HALL PLAZA, VALHALLA, NY 10595. YOU MUST INCLUDE THE NAME OF THE PERSON ON THE CERTIFICATE AND THE DATE OF THE BIRTH, DEATH OR MARRIAGE.
Where do I get a personal ID Card?
The Westchester County Clerk's Office is now offering personal identification cards to Westchester County residents that may be used as an appropriate proof of identity as well as official form of ID. A certified copy of your birth certificate as well as identification to verify your identity and residence will be required. For more information, contact the County Clerk's Office at 285-4287.
Where can I get voting, voter registration and absentee ballot information?
You can apply at the Towns Clerk's office or you can visit the New York State Board of Elections website at http://www.elections.state.ny.us/voting/voting.htm and learn the criteria for voting and for filing absentee ballots. You can download voter registration forms and absentee ballot applications.
You may obtain a voter registration card from the Town Clerk. If you need an absentee ballot you may obtain the application from the Town Clerk.
